Hey Guys,
I bought this atv from my neighbor who said it was bored .030 over this winter but everything else was stock. He recently put the bike back together about two weeks ago. It idles great and runs smooth to around 1/8-1/4 throttle. If I ease into the throttle she will pick up speed but if I try to accelerate at a good pace then the bike spudders. I don't have any back fire issues. I'm wondering where is a good place to start as far as what size jets to buy in order to fine tune the bike? This is my first time dealing with rejetting a carb and I've found many great articles on how to do it but I'm not sure what sizes to buy. Thanks.

Search " carb is messing up bad". Go to page 2 of comments and look for the long response from Gen1Pat. He basically tells you all you need to know to disassemble the carb properly and diagnose your problem. Stock jet is 145 I believe, so you may need to pick up a 147.5 and a 150 main jet. Just read what Pat says and go from there. You also need to list any mods you have for any of us to help you out. Like air filter, exhaust, etc. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Thank you! I found his response. I ordered a 147.5 main jet on my way home from work. I will fill out my sig with some info.

One other thing you need to look at is the accelerator pump. Make sure that the accordion boot that goes over the pump rod (inside the black plastic cover) is not ripped. You also need to remove the intake tube from the back of the carb. In the back of the carb you will see a brass tube sticking up at about the 5 oclock position. That is the nossle the fuel is sprayed from by the accel pump. Look at it and hit the throttle at the same time. You should see a heavy squirt of fuel come from that brass nossle. If not, you have a problem, and need to take the carb apart.
