I've been seriously thinking about making upper arms for the 1st gens. I'm not too interested in doing the lowers. They are pretty heavy duty, and if I were to do them, it'd be easier to extend them 2". The reason I'm thinking of making them for those who want em, is because I will have them off to do the stroker resto/mod, and can make a jig. I'd like to get a number of people who seriously want them, so I can make sure it is worth my time to do them, and to get a price together.

If I do this I WILL NEED YOUR OLD UPPER ARMS. I will only need the mounts the bolts go in, that's it. Don't really need the whole arm. Right now, I have what I need to make a set. They will not come with bushings or heims, that is up for to do.

I was looking at my lowers the other day, and wondering how I could modify them?
I would want to use the ASR style ball joints for both the upper, and lower arms. But I believe that the stock bushings, over the hiems works just fine..

So ya.. I say go for it!
But I would like to see a modded set of lowers first, and some optional sizes.

Also with your vote... I would wanna know some prices?
The major thing about doing a 400ex swap is the cost...

I can easily make the uppers. I have mine already made, so I can use them to put together a jig. I can mod the lowers, but, like I said, it will be easier to make them +2 from the get go. I can make the uppers to work with the +2 lowers. I just don't know what it will take to do them. I may mod a set of lowers (I have an extra pair) and see if my uppers will work just by turning the balljoint out to adjust camber.

The reason I am doing the poll is to get an idea how serious people are about buying them. As long as my enternet keeps working I will get some idea on prices in a short short. Btw, I only use hiems from FullFlight.

Those hiems are spendy...
I think I would rather just stay with the bushings to save money. The ASR ball joints are $40 bucks for the set.

I'm talking about using the heim style balljoints. Never had a problem with the mount bushings. I think we all got a little confused. There is no way I could make the mounts using the heims and cover my investment. I just reset the enternet, so hopefully I can price out the materials and get back to you guys.

Full Flight offers 2 styles of balljoing heims. The first is the more expensive ($70) bolt type, and the end is the less expensive ($45) non bolt one piece style. I use the one piece, and they come as a pair. I will have the bungs welded in and ready for the heims to be threaded in.

Those are the large heims. They are 3/4x16 and are for the balljoints, they small heims are 1/2" diameter shanks that are used for the mounting bolts to go through. What are you guys wanting to spend max on these arms? I have a price in my head, but want to see what the general census is.

Ok I get it all now.. But I would still prefer to have the "hiem style" ball joints on both the upper, and lower arms.
I can actually have a set of arms made for me locally. But I'm not gonna say how much they want to do it.....
