I just orderedd a +4 crank key from Vitos, Is there any downside to adding this to my bike. Like hard hot starts or detonation issues. I mostly do trail rideing and the bike is in the lower RPM band not above 3rd gear. I'm thinking that this would be a good mod for this purpouse. I know that if you add the timeing down low that you will give up power on the top end. But I'm not into going 60MPH on the dirt on a twisty trail. Maybe my question should be focused on folks that have done this mod and get their feedback. Vito claims a 2+ Hp gain, I know that won't happen, you are only moving your exhisting powerband down a little lower by advanceing the timeing. To gain those numbers takes more than a timeing mod. I do see the possibility of adding some jet, as adding timeing will make the motor a little bit on the lean side. I gotta wonder why Yamaha did not put this in the bike to make it more emmision leagal?

no draw backs and you dont loose any power up top id say that you gain 2-3 hp on a fully built motor it woke mine up much more snappy on mine revs out really quick and its not moving the power band like a cam timing gear would this is totally different get it put it on and you will understand and you do have a flywheel puller for this right?

I had a open air box when I installed the key it was very noticible, engine reved faster and more bottom end. It started the same, and the carb ran just as good as befor, no issues.

Best $20.00 I spent on this bike... This thing rips through the gears now.

Thanks for the info lol in need one now THANKS!!!:tup::tup:
