Alright I know this might be a little biased as a yamaha website but would the
Yfz450 or the trx450 be better for my dad he's looking for something he can trail ride on but he wants something fast as crap also which one is more reliable and which one is the all around better of the two? But reliability is the main factor
Thanks guys:atv:

Neither are going to be very reliable. They are high output race quads. And you need to change the oil every 10 hours or so. I'd go with a raptor 660 or 700.

If your going reliability get a 04-06 Honda 450 and keep the oil changed. 10 hours is a bit much. Just change it when it starts to turn colors.

The monda has a week trans if you don't change the oil. The Yamaha has random issues.

If you want fast it won't be reliable you want reliable it won't be fast. It's a trade off.. I personally like the KFX having reverse and the rareness. But that's my opinion. The Honda rides better and is more tame and the three.

Ok ive riden both a yfz 450 and a raptor 660. Both were fast but if ur looking for the whole reliabiltiy. The raptor wins. Get him a raptor

Ive never owned a TRX450 but had a YFZ450 and a KFX450 and either one would be a good choice, not doggin a trx cause I might be getting one myself this year. It doesn't matter what you get, they all require maintenance just some call for a little more. But like a few other members said a 660 or 700 sounds perfect for him, All the power and speed a feller needs and can be built to do anything he wants, Even stock they are more than a handful. A lot of guys piss and moan and say they are too top heavy and such ****, and yea its true they are tippy but throw some extended a arms and axle on it and problem solved. Reliability is where its at like Lou said. Depending on what hes gonna be doing with it will determine what quad best suits him, He might like a Wolverine or a Grizzly both are reliable and great trail quads.

Well he loves to go fast and jump big jumps loli watched him on a 300ex hit a jump in fith gear and land so hard it wasn't even unny the back caliper came up an caved in the exhaust that's why he wants a little bigger and better of a bike this time lol

If he wants to jump then get a 450, the 660's and 700's arent set up for jumping no matter what you do to them. This is from people that race them and have said this to me, they would prefer the 450's for tracks and the 660-700 for desert/ trail riding

Well I think I'm gonna try to look for a 700 for him but I'm leaning towards the 660 because he can work on a carb does the 700 have an oxygen sensor? Or do you have to get the computer flashed every time you want your fuel injectors to Put out more?

My warrior beat a 400ex....just saying.
