87 350 warrior loud ping noise on rotation

Hey all... my starter broke and seized up the engine so it stalled. I put another starter on and now i'm getting a very loud ping or clang noise from the center of the engine when it tries to crank and it won't turn over.

Got any ideas... thanks!

sounds like maybe the starter clutch is junk... hard to tell tho... you can take the stator housing off and the flywheel and check the condition of all that stuff. you will probably need the special flywheel puller
