87 carb

is the carburetors the same for all the years.. or will the 87 just fit on 87-89?

The earlier years are a little different than the newer ones. I think 87 up to around 93 have a 2 throttle cable setup, and different needles. It's not a huge difference, it would just take different throttle housings and cables to swap them from one type to the other.

Yea, I'm just finding this out. i bought a newer Carb for my 87' and the throttle cable does not fit the mounting tube. I just ordered a newer throttle cable and I am currently waiting on it in the mail.

87 and 88 have the single cable and 89 to 93 have the 2 cable...The single cable is much better and isn't as hard to pull. Thats probably why Yamaha went back to the single cable design in 94
