Hey everyone,
I recentley got my first 4-wheeler. Ive always wanted one and my friends had them that I would ride, now I finally have my own. Its an 87 warrior with aftermarket exhaust and rear suspension. I traded my parents old mini van for it and this thing is a whole lot of fun to drive!

Ive always fiddled with my boat, mopeds, and cars myself and plan on keeping this quad running for a long while. The guy who had it before knew what he was doing and kept good mechanical care of it, he certainly didnt baby it though.
Luckily its in great running condition so I'm not in a huge hurry to check the whole thing out maintenance wise. I couldn't get the manual to open online so here a couple questions I have:

Whats the easiest way to get to the spark plug?
When shifting gears should I always use the clutch?
Is there a good all-season engine oil to use?

I'm sure I'll have more where that came from :p, thanks!

Welcome to the site

Spark plug- Its reachable how the bike is. you shouldn't have to remove anything. Do you have a plug tool?
Clutch- Yes unless you plan on replaceing the plates sooner than you'd have to otherwise.
Oil- its a topic for debate. Search it there are a lot of posts. I prefer yamalube.

ok thanks. unfortunately "oil" is a three letter word and not allowed to be searched. so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Welcome to the site, the Warriors spark plug uses an 18mm socket. It's an NGK D8EA or DR8EA. Yamaha Yamalube works good for all seasons and riding. I run 20/50 in mine. Next I will be going to Amzoil 20/50 Vtwin oil.
