I have a small problem with replacing a CDI on a 96 Warrior. I have a new one but the plugs are different. Old one has all the same wires except for 2. The plug for the stator only has 1 plug with red, white, blue & yellow wires on the replacement CDI. The old CDI has 2 plugs, 1 with red & white and 1 with green and brown. All other wires are the same.
Here's my question.
Can anyone tell me if the green stator wire goes to the blue or yellow wire on the new CDI and what does the brown one go to (blue or yellow)?
I am dead in the water. I would hate to guess even though I have a 50/50 chance of being right. I am hoping someone has a wiring diagram and would be kind enough to look it up for me. Thanks.

It seems the 96 has a unique CDI. When you buy a new one matched with a stator, they send you a 95 set up. Nobody makes an after market CDI for a 96. My options are to either buy a matching stator, another CDI that is used (ebay) or a new OEM 96 CDI.

So, I sent the new CDI back and exchanged it for an OEM.

In conclusion, if you are looking to buy a used Warrior, don't buy a 96 if you think you'll ever need to replace the CDI box. Buy a 97 and newer or a 95 & older. Also, don't ever let anyone help you connect the battery cables. It only takes a second to burn up your CDI when the battery cables are crossed.
