I know I read something before about this but can't seem to find it.
My 98 Warrior 350 will start great when it is cold, as soon as it warms up it dies and will not start again. Any help would be great. It will start with starting fluid but only runs for a few seconds then dies out again.
Thanks Babygirlwarrior

Because you say it will still start when hot with starting fluid, that means you're still getting spark when it cuts out. Sounds like it's getting starved for fuel to me.

The first thing I would check is that the fuel tank vent line isn't obstructed. If that line is pinched or plugged with mud, or if the check ball in the cap is stuck it won't allow air into the tank as the fuel exits it, causing it to vapor lock. Next time it shuts off loosen the fuel cap and listen for air rushing in. If you hear air rush into the tank when you loosen the cap, a vacuum is being created in the tank, you just have to figure out where the blockage is or replace the cap if necessary.

It could also be an issue with the float on the carb. When it gets hot and shuts off, put a catch container underneath the bowl vent/overflow line, and crack the drain valve open on the bottom of the carb. Let it run for a while and see if you're still getting a steady flow of fuel or if you only get a few drops and then it stops flowing.

There are other things that could be causing it, but those are the most likely culprits, let us know what you find out.
