Ok, well a took out my tensioner, and I think its time for a new timing chain. However a friend of mine says just put some valve shims in.
Second question is how big of an ordeal is it to replace the starter drive. Today, the motor stalled while idling and when I went to hit the starter button, and 'whizzznn' went the starter. I've heard talk about a one way bearing in there, but can anyone offer more detail?

on the starter you have to pull the fluwheel to get to the one way clutch for the starter... you need the flywheel puller for a warrior though

I never had the loud knocking noise of the bearing slipping when cranking, and still don't.
