air filter

I just got my new airbox and I am trying to install the air filter and it seems like it just sits in there. Is there something im missing or does it just get rtv'd onto the airbox and thats it? Seems like a stupid setup to me.

Yupp, stock one just sits in there. There are two channels on either end of the filter and two small lips on the lid too, the filter casing sits in there. Crappy design.

I have seen a plastic adapter for a clamp on filter on ebay for $10 or $12, has anyone used it? The billet ones are too expensive for me.

hmmm ive never heard of these. id say give it a try cause ive been in the market for one and plastic seems better to me
