has anyone bought this kit before? i am looking at this kit for my warrior needs to whole top end rebuilt. i do a lot of trail riding, jumping, and just fly down the road. the engine had a white brothers cam (sorry i have no idea what the specs were but it was a mid to top end cam) a 10.25 to 1 wiseco piston and R/D valve kit. the valve kit has been in the engine for about 11 years now and im thinking about just replacing it all. and that kit comes with everything. my big question is that cam (.450) going to take away my bottom end? i do not really want to lose my bottom end, but i want a really strong top end. i would like the engine to put out more power than what it had, but still be able to just ride around causually. the reason for the rebuild is the cam bearing went out, and it just caused a lot of damage to the whole top end. any help would be great.

Your gonna have to sacrifice on one end for a gain in the other end more than likely, but you should be able to casually ride either way. You will just have to keep the RPMs higher and work the clutch a little more ;)

You will def lose bottom end with cam and that relativly "low" 10.25:1 compression. I would rather see you use the Web .390 cam, or the Megacycle 252X2 cam.

well the kit has a JE 10.75:1 compression piston. would it lose more low end than what a stock engine would have? I want to find out what size whitebrothers cam I had in it but I dont know how. I have read yours and jasons reviews on cams but i cant make up my mind which one I want. does that megacycle 252x2 have good low end, but still pull on the top end? this engine did have a Web .390 cam in it before i had it and the person who had it said it had awesome low end but it fell on the top end. i have been doing a lot of research but cant quite pick out what i should go for.

I think with that piston you would go with a little bigger of a cam and not hurt bottom end performance so much but have a much more powerful top end. You can pull the cam out and on the cast they grind a number that tells you what it is.
Whitebrothers uses mostly the web .390 cam as they feel that is the best all around cam by there dyno testing.
the x2 will have more bottom end then the web .390 but have less on the top.

right now I'm at college so I cant get the grind number off of it. i know the old cam was a web grind 88 but i had never ridden the warrior with this cam in for it was not mine at the time. I can not remember for the life of me what the whitebrothers cam had on it. but I will find out hopefully this coming weekend. all i know is that the white brothers cam was not a low end cam. I think a stock warrior had a little more low end than what this one had but about half throttle it really picked up and went. It was great for racing or going down the road but for woods you constantly had to have a lower gear and rev it out if you had a hill. however it really picked up at half throttle and never fell off at the top end. I will keep doing some research because I would like to get the best cam for me and still havent decided yet. I am thinking about the Web .430 cam or just going with the Web .390 cam. I am pretty much settled on getting a 10.75:1 JE piston so which ever cam would work the best with that I would get. thanks a lot guys for the help

Ok well I went home from college and I found out the numbers on the whitebrothers cam. it had "WB1905" and right underneath that it had "495". is there any way to find out what for size this cam is with these numbers?

Go right to the source, call White Brothers.

Actually I did some looking for you the WB1905 cam specs out to:

YMF350 Warrior(86-00) All Around 1 0.440" 0.440" 258º 244º WB1905

All White Brothers cam specs are taken at .050 lift. So this is a heathy cam.

wow i didnt think i had a .440 cam in that thing. i guess that would explain why it came to life at half throttle and really revved out. i just might go with the complete alba kit or just get a web .430 cam with a JE 10.75:1 piston. thanks dave. also where did you get that information? i tried searching the web but cant even find anything on white brothers camshafts.

well i just ordered the alba kit with a 10.5:1 JE piston and the megacycle .450 cam. i just did more researching on this cam and im not sure its what i should have gotten. i did have a .440 lift intake and .390 exhaust cam in it before, but it still isnt nearly as big as this one. i might try it out or i just might order a webcam before i put the engine completely together. i would like to try it with this cam, but im just afraid something will happen ( i just found out that you have to modify the exhaust valve cover and need an adjustable cam sprocket for this cam to work, is this true?). so a little imput will help. this cam just scares me a little with reliability. any import would be gratefully welcomed. thanks guys

i see you pretty much have the same top end i will soon have but i dont have any port or polish done, but i did get the 1mm oversized intake valve for intake side needed it because it was beat up a little. i just read your review about the megacycle cam (for about the 4th time) and i do feel more comfortable using it now. but do i really need to modify the exhaust valve and have an adjustable sprocket for this to work? i cant wait till all the parts get here and the machine work is done. thanks agian.
