Another carb joint question

Does the carb joint need to be made the way the factory makes them with the two pieces of aluminum bonded by the rubber...or could I just have one milled out of solid aluminum. If anyone has any input on this that would be great.

if you make it out of soild aluminum then the heat will transfer from the motor to the carb and litterly boil the gas in your float bowl..... unfortunatly theres usually a reason for bad designs
