Winderosa, Cometic,K&S and others, are they all pretty good. Anyone have any trouble with a certain manufacture. Not sure what was used on mine the last rebuild but the base gasket cracked and was leaking. I also noticed that some of the kits came with all the O-rings and everything, is this a good idea? Looks like the K&S kit is the most complete.

Thanks, Tim

i cant tell you what the best kit is, but all i ever got was vesrah. their complete kit had every o-ring and gasket except i think the big one for splitting the cases. i did, however, had one of the base gaskets start leaking and i had to tear the top end off one day just to replace it. thats the only experience i ever had with them

Ive used K&S and the Versah Kit, there both Japanese Quality... Cometic is on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for in my opinion...

I just priced out stock Yamaha gaskets. Not bad prices at all! The cheaper Cometic kit did not look so nice and didn't come with the o-ring. The Cometic EST kit looked really nice but they wanted like $60.00 for it. I'm thinking of just getting the factory gaskets, what do ya think?

I think yamaha's stock gaskets are crap, just about every one of mine seeped some oil when I got it. Might as well have cut out a piece of a shoebox in the shape of the gasket. Most of mine were replaced with vesrah, the clutch cover was cometic, and no leaks from there on out.

Yamarider, glad I didn't pick up the Yamaha gaskets today! Hope I didn't make a mistake but a local shop convinced me to go with a company called Namura. The set looks pretty darn good but I've never heard of this company. It was only $25.00 and came with everything including all the o-rings, valve seals and exaust donut. The head gasket is 3 piece aluminum. Anyone ever use this set? Think I'm gonna be sorry?
One more question, the cylinder is now bored to 84mm. Am I cool with this gasket kit?

dam 25 bucks I paid 70 for the verash kit. Think I might of got rooked. But I got the stator gasket, clutch cover gasket and all the others for that price....

I've always like cometic gaskets more than anything... however the last set i bought was winderosa mainly because it had valve seals in it for a cheaper price than cometics... if i ever start riding alot again i will change my main and base gasket back to cometic's.
