What to look for when buying new brake pads? Are there any particular companies out there that are better or the best compared to others?

EBC is the best for the price, that i know of....dont get anything cheap off ebay(unless they are EBC), i made that mistake...the brakes were gone in a month >=[....

Get the EBC Severe Duty pads. They're one of the most expensive ones out there, but they'll last forever. Don't get cheap ones. I made the mistake of purchasing tusk pads when I was in a pinch. Total ****. The front ones did about as much good as dragging my feet behind the quad, and the rear ones lasted me all of 4 hours on a track before they were steel on steel again.

I agree with greg on this one. Don't cheap out as it will cost you more in the long run.
If you look to the stock pads aren't that expensive either and from what I've found there great, last long time. I have the EBC's in the rear (the SD racing pads) and find that they have much better stoping power then stock, but a little more expensive.

I have tried them all!! I they are about the some as far as wear goes EBC will wear out in one race if it is muddy and will last for several if not just the same as the el cheapos from eBay. I can get a full set from eBay for the price of one set EBC at the local dealer. The key to making them last is good rotors and change them before the get completely work out. I routinely check the pads after each race while performing my maintenance. For TT racing or any other form of racing where you will be extremely harsh on the brakes then I would go for the name brands mostly because you can get different compounds which could give you better than braking.
