Break in

So i hope this is the right section since its not really about a 350 problem. So i recently just got my quad back from my friend whole rebuilt it as you guys know if you read my older post. My question is when do i change the oil for the first time? I ran about 1 tank of gas through it. So say i should of changed it with the first 10 min of riding and others say after the second tank? when is the best time to do it? and also what kind of oil do you recommend?


So all in all heres a recap of questions.



1. How long after a new rebuild engine do i change the oil?

2. What brand is the best to buy? Yamalube or Bel Ray?

3. What weight should i use? 10w-40?

4. How many quarts?

1. if youve run a tank of gas threw it id change it, it should broke in. though we have had a huge debate on here.

2&3. 10-40 brand is up to you as long as its designed to work with a wet clutch

4. right around 2.5 quarts
