Hey guy's.Im new here and to sport quads.I just bought a very nice and clean "all stock" 04 warrior the other day.the bike barely even has a scratch on it but after a further exam when i got it home i noticed the top of the motor has a mount from the frame to the head and its compleatly broke in two.not a big deal has its cheap and seems pretty easy to replace but what im wondering is,Is this a pretty common problem with these bikes?Should i fab up my own to make it stronger or maybe its better like it is so the mount breaks instead of the head?As i said the bike looks to have been barely ridden so im wondering how the mount broke so easy. thank's

Welcome to the site Man! Common break.....fix it and then be sure to check all other engine mount locations for tightness.

yep very common problem. what i did was put a washer on the mount and welded it all back up. or you could just get new ones what ever you want to do. and like deadlast said, check all the other mounts to make sure they are tight

thnx guy's.i felt like it was prob common because the mount looks thin anyway.i think ill do the same and just weld it for now and see how that holds up.

I wouldn't call it a common problem, I have yet to see a broken mount in person. They are plenty durable when everything else is as it should be, so a broken one is indicating a problem elsewhere. When I bought my warrior the frame was all jacked up in the front every tube was bent in the wrong direction, yet the upper mounts were still in perfect shape. I had several crashes at 30+ mph in addition to that, and still my warrior has the original upper mounts on it. That seems like a decent testament to the durability of the design when there's not something else causing excessive stress on them. Most likely it'll be loose motor motor mounts, but it could also be a damaged frame. Figure out what caused them to break though, or you'll just have to fix it again. If you can't find anything wrong don't get too worked up about it, but if you then fix it and it breaks again you have something going on. It is possible though that the previous owner found the mounts were loose and tightened them and never noticed/cared about the broken mounts.

Ive seen four on four diff bike. I call that common for my eyes. Anyways, in every case it was loose motor mounts. the motor wash givin out to much vibration the then the upper mount gets stressed, eventually breaks. I agree with Yama though, but hopefully its not a wacky frame, that spells trouble all over not just to the upper mounts.

Its broke on both sides dead even just above the bolt.I bought the bike this past friday and today i checked it out even better.I had the same thought about it taking a hard hit somewhere or something being out of wack but cant find a single thing wrong.like i said before the thing barely even has any scratches on it even on the bottom of the frame.ill try to get some pics up.

Heres a couple pics.
