can anyone help me with tips on replacing the front cam chain guide. I know I have to pull the head but will I need any other gaskets besides the head gasket? any help would be thankful.

If you mean the front guide, as in the one closest to the front of the bike, you can remove the cam gear and tie the chain up so it doesn't fall into the case and that guide lifts right out. I just rests in a groove. The rear guide is the one that is bolted in. You DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE THE HEAD TO CHANGE THE FRONT GUIDE. Just remove the cam cover and it's right there. You need to turn the guide sideways to get it out and back in.
