Instead of ordering a whole new top end can i just pull the jug off and take the old leaky gasket off and clean it up real good and use rtv gasket maker? or should i wait a week for the gasket to come in?

It ends up being your choice, RTV gasket maker instead of the gasket is a trick to up the compression a hair. Just depends on how much you trust RTV gasket maker.

yea i mean right now the gasket is leaking pretty bad, and i dont wanna wait a week for a new gasket in the mail since i want to go riding tomorrow....

i just didnt know if you could use rtv instead of a gasket..

ya it just won't work on things like trying to make head gaskets. I would reccomend if you do get the gray RTV as it seems to be for higher temps and pressures. The gray is reccomendd all over my diesel motor to seal if that tells you anything.

That's a good idea.
Gray RTV is some strong stuff. I wouldn't try the others.
Make sure you degrease and scuff the mating surfaces with a small stiff stainless brush or equivalent to give the RTV some "tooth" to bite to. Careful with using sandpaper as not to round off the machined gasket edges.

i ended up getting oem gaskets turns out the local shop had em.

now i cant remember what head bolts go where... lol

do the longer ones go towards the exhsat side?

Yea got it haha gotta get oil and see if I i installed everything right.

i see you got your parts but this is what i use.

go to your honda dealer or yamaha.

and ask them for this. this is all we use.. I Never trust the other ****!
