sounds to me like your intake boot may be cracked causing it to not add as much suction to the carb next time you start the bike try taking off the air box tube that leads to carb and while its running stick your hand flat over the intake of the carb if it sucks you hand and doesnt let it go till the bike shuts off than the intake boot is fine than you know if its something else plus if you do this itll suck any extra krud left in the jets or ports out of the carb

I can start the bike an if I put my hand over the intake I can make the bike idle just fine. like it's getting too much air? although as soon as I go to hit throttle it acts like it wants to flood and die. when i adjust my air/fuel screw it seems like it helps. my carb rebuild kit comes in today so I'm gonna put that in and see what happens.

ok let me clarify if i put my hand over the intake tube and completely close off the air it does die. It's when I let a small amount of air pass when it runs fine.
