Hey guys,
I have a question about my warrior carb. Which jets in the carb need to be "unscrewed" I read that the air/fule needs to be out ~ 3 turns for the setup i have (k&n filter/airbox drilled out) I have a 148 main jet in the carb now. It ran like a champ before i let it sit (for a LONNNNNG time) Ive drained the gas, changed the plug and cleaned the carb numerous times and she still wont start! I really wanna get back into riding this damn thing. Any help would be appreciated!

Did you try pumping the throttle while holding the start button? Maybe your idle speed's set too low.

Sure did. And ive adjusted the idle screw pretty much from fully screwed in to almost fully screwed out.
I think i need to adjust the brass fuel/air screw ( i think it should be 3.5 turns out. and i only have it 2.5. Should any of the other screws be adjusted? If you are facing the left side of the bike, you can see the idle screw. There is also a small phillips head screw right above it (it looks like it cuts off the breather hose) How many turns out should this be?

With just a filter, 3.5 turns is too much IMO, but that shouldn't keep you from starting it anyway. If you turn it over for a while and remove your spark plug, does it get wet?

Right now it is at about 2 and a quarter. The spark plug was getting a tiny bit wet. Ive had the damn carb out at least 10 times now!! I really wanna get this damn thing running!

Here is the deal, i bought this brand new in 02. Kept it at a buddies house. Rode it every weekend for maybe 3 months. For the next, oh, 3 yrs, it only got ridden for probably 5-10 minute increments at a time. So that puts us at about 05. Well, since then it has sat under a tarp outside of his house( i lived in a townhouse all that time and had no where to put it) I recently moved into a house and the warrior is now in my garage. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. I put a new battery in it and started it up (even with the OLD gas in it) and believe it or not, it started right up and ran for 30 seconds and died. Since then i have cleaned the carb at least 4 times, drained the bad gas, changed the plug.. and thats it. I am not very good with carbs and such and i may have made a mistake putting it back together. The jetting was perfect before it sat for the 2 yrs ( my buddy had an 02 just like mine, his was jetted, k&n and he had an alba pipe on it and mine would beat him every time just with the jetting/k&n/airbox drilled, and yes we switched bikes numerous times so that he couldnt use the its the rider excuse) I am at a loss what to do with this thing. I may just go the route of putting on the z400 carb (there is one on ebay now for ~ 40 shipped, havent bid on it yet though) What would you guys suggest? I was young when i bought this thing (kind of an impulse buy) but i LOVED riding it. Just sucked because i lived in a townhouse with no garage. Now i have the garage and a place to ride really close to my house but the damn bike wont run!!!!!!!

Seems like the carb got clogged up or something. If it's really a carb issue then I would think it'll actually be easier to install a Z400 carb, I hated screwing around with my stock one trying to find out what was wrong with it. That was one of the main reasons I swapped it out.

Cool man, i was watching one on ebay and it went off at 45 shipped.... I got online too late and didnt get a bid on it... Grrr I will keep an eye out for one.

You need 3 things to start. Gas, spark, and air. If your getting all 3 then you should be able to fire it...

You may think i sound crazy but try pull starting it with another 4 wheeler or try to be pushed.

If you have gas spark and air i can almost guarentee you that it will start.

I ran through the same ordeal with my friends 300 ex. Messed around for a couple days and finnally i just pull started it. Fired right up and has been running fine ever since. Saved him about 500 dollars for the " total rebuild " the local shitshop told him it needed.

That's true, I forgot about that. Some warrior have issues where the electric starter doesn't work, but pulling them does.

I will have to try that. Actually, i am looking to put in the z400 carb so hopefully that fixes the problem! I will try the pull start while the stock carb is in though!

Thanks alot mad cow! I was getting ready to say that you may are probably going to get sick of my questions in the next few weeks!!!

Cool! I found an 05 carb plus the thumb throttle and cable AND the carb mounted choke that is local (half hour away) and he is selling all that to me for 85..

That's a pretty good price. With the cost of shipping that's about what I ended up paying for the carb and choke.
