Hey im pretty sure that the chain on my warrior is a 520 and there is a store locally that sells chain in 10 foot sections and i was going to get it but it was a 50 not a 520 i was wondering what is the difference and will it work and if so i do have the chain tool to cut the links so i could make it work if it will fit the sprockets. and just by looking at the 50 it looks pretty close to the same as a 520 but idk if it will work so just tell me what yall think.
Thanks

yeah it will work 50 chain is just wider than 520... the pin distance is the same.... i probably wouldnt advise doing it tho, the 50 chain is going to be a hell of a lot heavier

ya prolly so but mabey it will hold up better since its heavier duty

Let's not make this difficult people. All full size quads use a 520 chain, it is by far the easiest motorcycle chain to get your hands on. Buy the right ******* chain, in the right length, and be done with it. I've never heard of a 50 chain on anything except commercial equipment, so it's probably a non-oring chain, probably more weight, and likely less tensile strength. I don't see any reason to buy something other than a 520.

Do what you think is best then, I told you my opinion. It's not worth trying to save 5 bucks when you're creating the potential for more problems in the long run. No chain is going to be the right size for the sprockets except a 520, and the chain you're looking at is for a different intended use. I guarantee you it will be less durable in the application than a simple $40 o-ring chain. The wrong size chain will be a hell of a lot more likely to jump off the sprockets and cause you hundreds in damage. How much could you possibly be saving? Not nearly as much as you could end up shelling out later to replace all the **** you broke and wore out. You get what you pay for, don't be a cheap ass or you'll pay twice.

dude are you like in a pissy mood or something

Yeah, dude, that must be what it is. I'm in a pissy mood and i'm just trying to give you a hard time for no reason. Your idea is great! It's an awesome idea to put the wrong size chain on the quad if you save yourself 10 dollars in the short run, never mind the risk of causing hundreds in damage that your broke ass clearly can't afford. Just ignore my experience and reasoning, you've had a quad for 3 months so you probably know more than I do anyways, I've only been working on quads for 10 years so i'm pretty much clueless. Let us all know how it turns out buddy! Just don't expect any more responses from me past this point, your attitude has given me a general lack of interest in trying to help.

yeah i agree with yamarider... i guess i just didnt get as straight to the point... you really cant be saving that much... even if the 50 **** was free you just asking for touble.... and from what ive found on OTHER applications that crap stretches like rubber....

now if your chain breaks infront of that hardware store and the cops are behind you, you could technically run it... but unless your GF is in labor and the only vehicle you have to take her to the hospital is your warrior, i wouldnt even think about running 50 chain

Don't buy the quad if you cant afford the right parts. Also, a word to the wise.....don't tick off any moderators, just doesn't pan out well. Most members on here (that have been around for a while) know there ****, so take it if you want, if you don't, proceed with caution. Just my two cents.
