Are the 87-88 chains longer than the 89 and newer???? I hope not I got a brand new chain for mine no rides on it and it was for the 87 swinger and now I have a 91 swinger on it and it seems too long.

I see harbor freight has one its a breaker and riveter. Im gonna head over there tomorrow and see if they got it in stock. I mean for 12 bucks you cant go wrong, I only have to remove 2 links.

Or use a regular bench or hand (4") grinder like this one: http://www.harborfreight.com/4-1-2-half-inch-angle-grinder-95578.html
I've bought several of these cheapies for $10-12 and have had great luck with them. You'll use the daylights out of it for all kinds of things.

Grind the 2 pin ends on the link just till they're flush with the side plate, then pry that plate off. Falls right apart.

Always leave at least ONE longer link than (you think) you need. It's easy to take another off, hard as hell to put 'em back on...

I used to use my dremel tool with a cut off wheel before I got a breaker.

I have a chain breaker and it makes a world of difference, its alot easier to put it in the breaker and take a link out that way.

Yea i'll see if they have a breaker if not then I'll use a dremel. I only have to remove 2 the 87's are 100 link and the 89 and newer are 98.

Wanted to update this, I went and got that harbor freight chain breaker and let me tell you it was well worth the money. Pushed out that pin no problem and I used it to re install the pin. Great tool to have and it was cheap at only 13 bucks.
