Changed the oil and filter

Is it normal for the first oil change that there is a little bit of metal shavings in the filter? My motor was just rebuilt

OH YEAH very normal... in fact expect alot... or if you changed real early expect some more on the second change too...

Okay thanks I changed it after 2 tanks of gas. When should I typically change it again

after 2 tanks of gas should have been enough to break it in, and therefore very little shavings from here on out... i dont know when to change it next really... i figure you there is no such thing as too fresh oil but at the same time its gets expensive if you do it every 2 hours haha

When I got my engine mods done. The machine shop said to change it every 15 hours( I bought a hour meter), but srew that. It would cost to much money, I am going to do mine around every 25 hours. When mine was stock I only changed the oil 3 times a year at the most. It also depends on how you ride your warrior,is it stock, and what conditions you ride in. Also I use 20w-50 yamahalube, but eveyone has there own oil they like.
