I just bought a 2000(atleast I think so) Warrior 350 and when I start it up it makes some clanking noises down by the starter or shifter side area. I don't know if it's bad or not but the machine still runs perfect. It starts up right away, no smoke, idles great, and just runs great. And, when I shut it off it makes some noise also. Like a quick, CLANK. Is the motor just kinda backfiring or?? It only makes the noise while shutting if off sometimes, not always. The start up noise is there everytime. And, like i said, the engine doesn't make any ticking noises or anything while its running. I'm hoping it's nothing serious.

My 94 has done that since I got it in Jan. I hope mine last 5yrs. Lol

Well so far it sounds like I should be fine until it goes out. I was looking on youtube and even some of the start up vids on there had the same noise I am hearing. Thanks guys! Great forum!

Also, that website isn't giving me a year. Here's my Vin code from the frame below the engine on the clutch side. JY43GDW00YA289991
