Cluch slipping

Well before i got all my new stuff i noticed my clutch was slipping the last time i road it. Like i would gun it in sixth and it would rev out then catch. Now that i put my new tires on and stuff it doesnt do it....what could the problem be? I dont think it magicly fixed itself....Well i have a new cluch but is there a way to check if my clutch is bad without taking the engine apart?

Get it into some heavy hill climbs, use a higher gear at lower speeds and nail it, if it don't slip it wasn't bad to begin with.
