Clutch advice?

I ride like I'm being chased by a pack of baboons on a specially curated diet of viagra and bath salts, what's the best clutch/oil combo I can buy to avoid being caught?

Got an ebc carbon clutch, didnt come with instructions so I installed it with the judder springs like factory. It never wants to fully let go and if I adjust it so it does it slips at wot.
Gonna take it apart and remove the springs to see if this solves my problems but in the event this clutch is smoked...
What's the best clutch on the market for an aggressive riding style?

Also quick side note... aside from a cable which bits and bobs do you need to do the raptor clutch mod? Figure while I'm in there...

If it doesn't release, check the condition of the cable and the clutch cam. I had a damaged cable on my old warrior(casing had a split). Replacing it with another good one made a huge difference in the throw I had. The cam is just a flat spot that pushes on a button and could theoretically get worn some how.

Do you have a generic replacement clutch handle assembly? I had to also put a used factory one back on that same warrior as the aftermarket didn't have as much throw in the lever.

Don't forget only JASO MA2 rated oil. I personally just use supertech motorcycle oil.

Pulling the judder springs seems to have helped but it still isn't perfect. Running the original lever and likely cable too. You might be onto something with the cable being worn/stretched... if I don't upgrade to the raptor set up I'll at least replace the old one

Cable and good oil got er, by the way. Using a jaso 2 rated oil got the grip up top and once the oils warm it doesn't drag like it did. All with proper adjustments, of course

Glad to hear. Was the cable damaged?

Assuming you used regular automotive oil. You have to run Jaso2 oil in these. The clutch material can't handle the additives in car oil. They swell and can flake apart. Just a warning that you may need to replace the clutches a bit sooner if they were damaged from the other oil. Probably okay, since it wasn't ran long.

Yeah clutch cable had a little split in the casing, lubed it up and it pulled much easier, so that just meant it was worth replacing.

Since you guys are talking clutch here I have a question my warrior won’t go into gear is that mean my clutch is shot it sounds like when you try to put it in reverse and it doesn’t grab it right away and it whines? Or do I have a more serious issue that I would have to split cases

Won't go into gear like every gear is neutral and free revs or the shifter physically won't change the gears?
Start with a clutch adjustment and I guess make sure the forward/reverse lever is engaging proper and go from there

You are putting it into neutral before trying to engage reverse, right? While it might go into reverse when in a gear, it can have problems on a more worn trans. Especially if your clutch is dragging, not disengaging fully.

It free revs it’s not grabbing the gear

Yes I was just using that as an example do the sound it’s making it won’t go into gear sounds like clutch isn’t grabbing

Okay. Does the foward/reverse lever is going all the way in both directions?. The handle drops back down/snaps into place? With the engine off, put it into first gear, push the lever foward while rocking the quad back and forth. If it pops into gear, either the linkage or the gears are damaged.

I had a forward/reverse lever get so corroded it did not want to turn all the way in either direction and was really stiff. If that is your case, the lever can come apart and be cleaned up. If not, it's possible you need to split the case.

BTW, you saying it's "like when you try to put it in reverse and it doesn’t grab" is not a normal situation. It's common, but is a symptom of a problem. And if you have kept reving it trying to get it to move, it's possible the dog tabs on the gears(fingers that engage) could have been further damaged. Kind of a normal response. The gears are plentiful on ebay if they are needed.

I did forget to mention, if rocking it back and forth pushing the lever forward doesn't work, simply unbolt the lever and push that tab on the transmission back. That will rule out if it's just the lever

It goes in and out of reverse fine so it will attempt to go into first and if I give it just a little bit of gas while letting the clutch out it will start that whining sound like it isn’t in gear and yes I can go through the gears with it off all the way up and and back down

Sounds like a damaged gear. Split the case.
