Clutch engagement problem

I just bought a 2003 warrior and all worked great. My Daughter has been learning to ride it and now the clutch won't engage when put into 1st gear all it does is make a ratchetting noise when you give it gas. I hope it is a easy fix.

Is the forward/reverse lever pushed all the way forward?

Yupp. There is linkage on that lever shaft as well, and it has to pop in and out of engagement. Sounds to me like its not clicking into forward.
