i was out riding with a buddy and i noticed after i changed my oil it didnt feel like it was pulling like it used to. i went from yamalube 10w30 to quakerstate 10w30 to yamalube 10w40. i slips when i dump the clutch to doo a wheelie in 2nd gear but it seems to grab when i just ride it. is it my fiber plates? are they wore down? or do i just need to break in the oil?

anybody use the tusk clutch kit from rocky mountain? i think thats what I'm going to get, the kit with fiber plates, steel plates, and the heavy duty springs. for $41 bucks + shipping cant beat that, than an o.e.m. cover gasket

i don't think so .... but i read somewhere that synthetic car oils can eat the fiber plates (i don't know if there is any truth in that tho)

I ran synithetics and it did good engin temps were lower but I couldn't aford $12 a quart and I. Got a blaster that if you have tomuch oil in the clutch won't stay in

Well I know if you get regular car oil, if it has the api seal I think it is on the back of the bottle its not good on wet clutch systems. I have myself tried this and on tha warrior it makes it hard to shift, and reverse is really hard to get into. Your best bet is a get a atv oil made for atv's or a motorcycle oil for wet clutch systems. Orielly's has atv oil, one is made my lucas oil and another is there brand I think.

Another good oil that actually has the rating for wet clutches is Rotella and its relativly cheap to boot. Thats what I run in mine, of course I also have a diesel and its the same oil I put in that.

I have heard rotella is good oil, and is good in diesel's too. Though at our work they don't get oil for diesel's anymore they put regular oil in them, which I thought they took different oil then a car motor did.
