I changed out the front sprocket to a 12T.. and btw mine came of EASYYY i was expecing a fight so i got out the 1/2 in drive and a nice 3 foot pipe, i barley had to put any pressure on it.. anyway

i havent ordered the chain and rear sprocket yet becasue I wanted to try out the little guy before i spent the money.. Well i like it and i will be buying a the other two..

my question; the stock chain is tightened correctly and the adjusters are almost bottomed out.. should I buy a chain with less links to give the adjusters some room to do their work?

also, i was able to test out the new airbox/filter setup i made and i noticed I bogged at the beginning of the throttle pull. I adjusted that little screw on the carb and it took care of the problem but the idle is a little high.. is it ok to leave it this way until i get a pipe and re-jet?

THANKS

the stock chain is probably stretched so go with the original amount of links. as for the idle try to back off the idle adjustment a little bit, in case you dont know what that looks like its on the left side (if your sittin on it) has a bit of a grip and a spring.

thanks for the info,

i turned the idle screw up to compensate for the loss of initial pull on the throttle due to the airbox mods.. is it ok to leave it here for a while until i get a new pipe?

yeah i high idle isnt going to hurt anything really... its just louder... ideally it should be idled down before you shut it off but as long as it isnt really high you should be fine.... a slightly high idle will actually take some stress of of the starter clutch when you go to start it

There is a gold idle adjustment screw on the carb. Turn it with your fingers while running to set the idle.

The original chain length is 98 links..

But keep in mind if you change sprockets you may need to go bigger. Ordering a 100 link chain and cutting 2 links out is better than it not being long enough....

So just to be sure i always ordered a 100 link chain.
