no its totally fine, i just got done cleaning my carb and dropping down to a 137.5 jet and im not having very good luck with it at all. once im in second gear it acts like im bouncing off the rev limiter. plug is still black. im starting to get a headache from this. i did the clicker pen mod. cleaned everything out rreally good. and now it runs like poo. even the idle is a little weird, i cant find that sweet spot for the idle screw. i wonder if i took my lid off my airbox if that will help it at all. i have a k&n with outerwear on it anyway. i dunno. its a headache and the nearest yamaha shop is 30 miles away. i do have a 135 jet also but whats weird about the 137.5 and 135 is the diameter of the jet itself is so much smaller than my 140 and it even doesnt wannt screw in right

Man that seems awful small. What's your elevation?
What plug are you running?

Have ou set your floats?

elevation is about 700, im wondering what would happen if i threw my 145 jet in there. oh by the way, that little plastic piece that goes around the main jet ( the one with the little holes in it) is it important? lol what does it do? i forgot to put it back in the carb i even double checked to make sure i got everything in and i missed it

edit: i found out what the plastic piece does and ill put it back in tomorrow, as far as the jets i think im gonna stick the 145 in it and then take my lid off and see what happens

the 2 jets on the left are the new ones 137.5 and 135 the one on the right is my 140. do the smaller jets look to be the right one for these carbs? and also that little bowl which way does it go on?

The little cup, goes flat part over the jet, against the carb. The cupped out part should point down.

145 is the stock jet (unmodified) I'm at 867' (same as you more or less) And I had to run a 147.5 main, with a modified lid. Those other jets look lie a Suzuki or Dynajet. They don't appear to be the correct size.

A 150 main was too much fuel for me, with my lid modified.

so maybe if i just keep the 145 in it without modding or taking off my lid it will be fine? i shouldnt have messed with the jetting at allll lol

i know im not gonna put the 140 in cuz that would probably be pointless being i have an aftermarket exhaust

you may be ok. I had a DG pipe, and factory box, with a 147.5 originally, and the bike acted like it needed more air. I modded the lid and put a 150 in, and I was cutting out in the top end.
I still haven't checked my top end, but it's acting better with the 147.5 and modded lid.

by modded lid, do you mean holes drilled into? if so how many and how big?

ohhhh yea i remember now :p. well thats almost like a lid off. ill try to keep the lid the way it is and gradually drill maybe 2 inch holes in it. i also hope all of this stops my throttle hesitation when i punch it

Adjust your idle screw for throttle pinning. I lowered mine, and caused it to hesitate.

i was all over that screw today, to much one way and the idle was high to much the other way and it was to low. either way it didnt make a difference in the bogging down

i have an additional question, i am soon to put a K&N airfilter in, and was wondering if i was just going to need to adjust my air screw or will i have to completly rejet, and if i do will i need to buy bigger or smaller.

alright so i put the 145 in and it runs pretty good now, havent checked the plug but i rode for about 3 hours today, the only thing is it still kinda bogs when i pin the throttle, before when i would do this it would bog and die if i held the throttle down now it will bog and pick back up. i might need to drop down one more jet but i will find that out tomorrow

Mine was doing the same thing. I just fine tuned the mix screw, and the throttle screw, and now we are good to go.
