did the direct shifter

did the direct shifter today, used a 2001 stock yz426f. It sat a little low for me with the factory bend so I hammered it straighter on the back side then filed the shifter lever by the spring so it would sit right. It's still a hair off but I can't tell with my foot. Best $5.00 mod I've put on it, hard to beleave the difference it made!!

direct shifters on these bikes are the shiiizzz... and the raptor clutch mod.. best $ spent..

and the brake light upgrade...
and the rear raptor shock...

So is that all I need to do this mod on my bike? Just the shifter from a yz426f? Will shifters from any other bikes work? Is there a cheap place to by them new, or should I just get one off ebay?

a yz250 shifter will work also and yes ebay will get you about the best price

yz250 shifter usually fits with no modification other wise they are pretty much the same.
