so i have been thinking about a few things i wanna do to my 87 war machine and here they are, please give me some input and maybe a few more inexpensive but good upgrades.

01 rappy rear shock (this is off a 660 right?)

banshee front shocks ( any year banshee? and what would the benefit be from these and are they just bolt on?)

ez pull clutch lever ( im pretty sure my parking break switch is disconnected from the lever but how can i tell for sure)

motion pro clutch cable.

any input and advice would be very helpful :) thanks

As for the clutch, do yourself a favor and get the rappy 350 set up. Its soo smooth you won't be able to believe the difference between the warrior and the raptor set up.

will any year raptor work for this conversion?

edit: meant to say for the raptor clutch mod. sorry

No only the 01 660 will work and give you a upgrade and you will haveto find a place to mout the rez and eather cut a hole in th bottom of the air box or heat the deform it cuz th rezy were it comes off th shock is different then the warrior

You have to mod the air box for the rappy shock swap? Though that was only necessary for the banshee.

01 raptor 660 shock if your a heavier rider, any year banshee if your lighter.

Banshee front shocks are a better shock then warrior, yes they bolt right up

I hear raptor350 clutch mod is great, wonder how much better it would be with an easy clutch?

Banshee front shocks are a better shock then warrior, yes they bolt right up

They sure are a bit softer, bit nicer of a ride then the warrior pogo springs. Some people don't like how the handle in corners though. Its a geometry thing.

thanks for all the input! i think im still gonna try out the motion pro + ez pull lever and see how that works.

im tall and 180 pounds, i just wanna change the ride hight a little bit without dumping loads of money into new a arms and what not. i saw a rappy shock on ebay for like 40 bucks that i might just pick up and try out, if i dont like it then ill just re sell it.

any other good mods i can do? i wanna tear the carb apart and give it a good cleaning but tbh im not that good with carbs at all!

carb is easy, it can be imtimadating but when you take the bowl off you look at it and it's like that's it, no big deal. If you are taking it apart, you sill see one spring in the bowl, it's for the acellerator pump. Change that with any oen out of a clicker pen. also I'd up the pilot jet to a 45 since your in there, it came a little lean from the factory. Ao what all is done to the quad? intake? exhaust? anything? let us know and we can help you with other upgrades

Well when I got it the guy said it has a 400 big bore in it. Dunno if its true or not and I assume the only way to tell is if I took the head off and measured the piston. I don't wanna tear that far into the motor. The pipe on it I believe is a cobra pipe. The sticker is missing but I will take a pic sometime and see if any of you can identify it. Other than that the intake is all stock as with the rest of the motor

if i get the yfz250 shifter, would i have to pull my pullstart assembly off?
