I just picked up a 2002 Warrior from a good friend of mine. My question is, does anyone make an aftermarket modded shift star? I run the Cascade one in my Banshee and it works great. Is the Banshee and Warrior one the same? I could even mod the stock one.

Also how hard is this to get too. I know the oil would need to be drained, clutch cover pulled, maybe clutch pack off...etc. Any info would be great.

Here is the cascade one I run on my banshee: http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=69

Thanks, -Zach

I have no idea. And for as long as I have been on here, have never heard of anyone making that mod. But would love to know if it works. Let us know what you find out.

egh. ........Might work. The star center on a warrior is a full circle, yet has a key slot in it, so that might sit in place. Big thing would be to see if the gapping was the same. Olny way to see would to be buy the modded banshee on and hold the warrior one up to it.

How exactly does the modded star make shifting easier and easier to fun neutral?

Well I emailed them to see if they have one for the warrior so will see what they say.

Ok guys they emailed back they do not have the stars for the warrior what they do is round the edges of the star. Which kinda makes sense, a smooth round edge is easier to move over then a sharp pointed one. They a few things like essentials like chain , sprockets, filters, spark plugs, grips, etc... they also have billet throttle covers. Hope this helps.

They've been doing that to 2 strokes and sand bikes for forever you can take the one off the warrior and mod it to do the same. I imagine if you do that plus a oil cooler you won't even feel the shifter lol

i did this mod to some of my old dirtbikes and maybe ill do it on the warrior. but i find they shift nice the way they are asis.

Yeah the modded star made a good difference on my banshee. The warrior is just more of a pain to find neutral. Maybe changing oil brands would help that problem though.

How do you mod it to find neutral better? I'd be interested in buying one of someone started modding them and they are proven to work.

the tooth in the shifting star that is neutral if you make it deaper and wider so tht the detent can ride in it eastyer insted of passing over it that makes finding neutral easyer

well i did mine for the heck of it and just round the teeth u dont have to touch the one inbetween 1st and 6th. and on the nuetral space the round wheel barely fits in the thats y it barely goes into nuetral so i rounded them two off a lil to.
before

after

the disc that doesnt
fit in nuetral
