electrical please help

well i bought a warrior with an electrical problem. the problem is , is that the when you turn on the headlights its blows a fuse and then u cant use the electric starrt. so i took off all the plastic and didnt notice anything. so i put it back together and just turn on the key and turned the lights on. and they worked for like 20 secs and then pop the fuse went then i noticed smoking around the headlights/bars. so i immediatly turn the key off and replaced the fuse. so i went to see if the electric start worked and of course it didnt:argh: what could cause this? i need it fixed fast and cheaply as possible

Short somewhere. When you had the plastics off, did you trace all the wires and check all the ground areas? Didn't see any exposed wire anywhere? I'd look around the lights an where you saw the smoke to start.

how can i fix it? i might just take it all apart and take the wiring harness off and check every wire

dont really need to. Look where the smoke was coming from and see what you can find. That seems to be your problem area.

thanks, i just now got all the front plastics off, now searching for wires

happened to me...the wires the were the problems were the ones coming out under the CDI box....was no room to put some heat shrink connectors so I took the time to put some electrical tape around it one by one...took a while to do a good job but I don't blow fuses no more

well i found that the wires coming from the electric start button to where it connects those wires were burnt a tad and one of them wasnt even connected to the connector . the guys before me must have nigger rigged it!!
