It does exactly what the name is. Keeps the sparks from the motor from getting out if the exhaust. These motors will produce some sparks and when your in a forest thats dry as hell.... well you get the idea.

Gotta agree.... But it wont hurt it, you might have to rejet it thou, and it will sound poopy

pulling the spark arrestor out really isnt much louder over stock its probably only 94db

spark arrestor is required to ride any trails on public land in Oregon. To clean them I use a propane torch and burn the build up off.
