Yup, 1st gen frame right there! You can be the first to try the +2 400ex lower/+2 2nd gen upper, aftermarket a arm set up! lol.

There is one other thing that will need a specific 1st gen parts for: steering stem. BUT!!! only if it is an 87. It has it's own stem because it uses a lower bushing instead of a bearing. 88-04 & rappys use the bearing. Where are you located? I have a late '90s frame that I'd trade ya!

I'm in md 20744 that will be awesome (save some cash in my pocket) and yes I just discovered I need the 87 steering stem if I go this route smh.
 
Well, I don't mind trading. But, I don't have the time to drive to you, or even meet half way. I would still need to pull all the **** off the frame first.
 
Hell, I'll even take your old twisted frame. Then I can cut out and weld in the lower stem mount.
 
Thanks for the offer gen1 but that 3hr drive is going to be a bit much for me

Also did the carb mod with pen spring, valve cap and clean re-wrap entire wire harness .
 
Man this swing arm bolt is a pain in the a$$ . It does not want to come out
