I had this posted in the pinned section but don't know if anyone read it or if anyone would even know.

I see all the ratio's for 18",20" and 22's. How about a ratio that works with a 21" extreme paddle tire. Powered by a 430cc,ported head, megacycle cam and 40mm edlebrock. I'm
running stock gearing and need more top end going up the hill.

15/40 or 14/40 will work. If your looking for topend try a 16/40, or a 15/38. Mickeys old 500 Warrior did 90 MPH with a 16/40 gear. BTW just a thought, but you should look into getting a Dynatek CDI box with a rev limiter and set the rev limiter to about 8500 RPM, with a 74mm stroke that gives 4127 FPM piston speed. Anything really above that will kill the piston because of heavy side loading on the skirts. Generally 4000 FPM is the standard.

Thanks for replying Dave. So, you think going up in the front will help in the sand. I did go down a tooth in the front and it helped with the climbing torque but really cut the top-end. Maybe I'm thinking the wrong way in gearing this bike. As you have said the Hp in this bike is in the upper mid rpms. I know the stock gearing with me on it kind of struggled. My son on the other hand is 110lbs lighter than me. It really goes with him on it but it could still use some more top-end. He pulls the hill in third. When changes to fourth it bogs down and loses speed.

As for the dynatek I looked for one but they don't make it for a 91 warrior.
