well, as some of you know i just put my bike back together with the 366 kit and a built head. went out to the garage yesterday to continue with the break in process and made a few passes in the field. you know just normal riding.

well, after a bit i really started to lay into it a little more. i'm running a 14t up front with a stock rear sprocket. anyway, it seems like 1st gear is way shorter now with the added power. would it be okay to run a 15t up front or do i need to play around with the rear. don't get me wrong i like the extra torque that i have now, but i just don't know if i can get used to having an almost useless 1st gear.

any suggestions from you guys with similar setups?

well i had the 357 kit and with a lil bit of work done to the head and i was runnin 16/38 pulled great and im 205lbs had all its power and gained spee, i think it never hurt the torque but thats my opinion

its got plenty of power for a 15 up front,,,, thats what i run when i flat track and got lazy this time and ran it a while with it raised backup and it did fine,,,

I run a 14 up front and the stock 40 in the rear. I know what you mean by having no 1st gear. I was actually thinkin of goin to a 15 front or a 38 rear, which i have a brand new one of.

okay, just wondering about this junk. i have an old 15t laying around so i may try it.

one more quick question though. i am planning to switch to ITP MXR4 19x10x9 rear tires soon. what would going from 20" to 19" accomplish? would it put me to where it'd be more comfortable?

the tire change will gear you even lower I'd put that 15 tooth on and if you think it's a little high geared it will lower when you go down in tire size might even want to up your back a little after the tire change all depends on how you ride

What elwood said. If you put the small tire on it will be even more acceleration but less top end. If you r switch to that tire siz, maybe go with the 15 t up front and if thats not enough put a 38 t on the rear also

I think I have stock on mine, and sometimes I take off in second no need for first, unless I am on a hill or something. First is just too short and low.
