Get a new cam chain?

Just doing the topend of my old 87 Warrior. New cam chain is around $35.00. Good idea or not needed? Does an old stretched chain make any noise? I have not measured the old one but it's been in there a looooong time.

If you know it's been in there forever it would be a good idea to change it out while you have it apart. You wouldn't be getting any noticable noise out of it unless it's extremely worn to the point that the automatic tensioner can't keep the slack out of it.
