so my 98 has a really hard time shifting through the gears. theres barely any movement in the shifter and even when wearing workboots it actually hurts the top of my foot to up shift. i run a yz250 shifter but my 96 has the same with no problems so i doubt thats causing it. i was thinking mabey the clutch isnt releasing fully but ive been messing with the adjustmet with no change. anyone got any ideas?

bent shift forks maybe? i think thats the most common ailment with a warrior tranny.

Its not the clutch being out of adjustment, I can shift mine without the clutch easier than with, dunno if thats good or bad. When is the last time you changed the oil and what kind did you put in. I put some car in oil mine once and it was hard to shift, pain in the butt to get neutral, changed that out and put synthetic atv oil and it was a big difference shift alot easier and smoother.

didnt even know warriors had problems with bent shift forks. ive never had a problem with that on my 96 that ive had for 10yrs with 2 transmissions. how could they even get bent?

i guess hard shifting, racing, all around just beating the hell out it. these trannies are bulletproof is all i'm saying and if it ever has a problem shifting i'd would just guess shift forks off the bat.

makes sense. today i messed around with the free play adjustments in the clutch again and im thinkin theres definately something going on with the clutch. there was a ton of throw on the lever on the side of the case so i repositioned it and got the cable adjusted good and then took it out on the ice for like 10min and it seemed to shift somewhat better. gonna keep messing with it and see what i can do.
