Help: 94 warrior sputtering after carb cleaning

Sounds like it is falling flat on it's face. Does it feel that way? It seems like its running lean more than it is rich. Did changing the needle clip position help, make it better or worse, or stay the same?

Changing the needle position made no difference at all... Once I hit that half throttle mark, it just looses all power and starts the sputtering, as soon as I back off below half throttle, it picks back up again... If I hold the throttle past half way, it sputters out for a few seconds and dies.

Try to raise the needle and see what happens. It's hard to diagnose over the net sometimes. But if lowering it did nothing, try raising it.

It will bring in more air because of the clamp on filter, so more fuel is necessary. You said sputtering, that made me think it was rich.

Ok.... Here's what I've stumbled on... I changed the needle clip to the space below center and it wouldnt get past 1/4 throttle this time... So I took it back out and changed the clip to the top notch thinking that if it was getting worse as I moved the clip down, then I should try all the way up and see if it improves... But it didn't... It went back to not being able to go above 1/2 throttle. So, as I was sitting on the side of the road, I decided just to rip the air filter off and see what happens. Well... It ran great with no problems. It has a k&n air filter, so I soaked it with carb cleaner and blew it out. I put the filter back on, and even after cleaning It went back to the 1/2 throttle. So I'm gonna get a new air filter ordered and go from there. I'm hopping that's gonna solve the problem. Just one more question.... Should I move the clip back to center or leave it at the top notch?

move it back to the center and even with a new filter I would be willing to bet that you will still be a little lean and don't clean your airfilter with carb cleaner lol that will probaly eat a hole in it

I'm lookin on eBay for an air box to put it like its suppose to be... Anyone know ir the 90 air box will work on a 94?

yeah all year airboxes will fit which is 87-2004 and you will need the ruber tube to atach the airbox to the carb

Yeah you are best to get an air box. If you had to remove the filter and lowered the needle all the way, for it to run as near correct as it can get, then you are running mega rich. Do you have any mods? If not, I'd put the stock air box back in, and jet back to stock.

Yea... That's what I'm gonna do... I also plan on taking it mudding so need the airbox anyway, so I might as well go ahead and get one.

I got my airbox in today... It has a twin foam air filter in it, I cleaned it with warm soapy water. I still need to get some filter oil, but I had a question about the filter tube. The foam on the edge of the tude where it seals against the air box is deteriorated. Is there somewhere I can get a new seal, or an alternative possibly? I've searched and haven't come up with anything yet. Ive thought maybe foam weather stripping like what's used on doors and windows would work... Any ideas? Thanks
