1rst off hi, im new hear, i have just built a 03 warrior engine, installed a 4mm hotrod crank, 11.1 piston, new valves n hd springs hot cam stroker cam, i noticed when i timed engine that when the flywheel T is inline that the cam sprocket is either alittle ahead or alittle behind the mark on cylinder head, i went with behind mark (right side), it runs good but seems no more powerful then a stock warrior, also this hasnt been re jetted from stock but doesnt apear to cutt out as if it were starving, could this just be the jetting?? also the gearing is stock, and valve adjustment is dead on, also when starting it will somtimes back fire through inake????? any help plzzz lol thanks:loco:

did you change the timing chain when you built the stroker motor?

also have you perfomed a plug chop? or put a over sized carb on? or a exhaust? or a different filter on it?

all these can do with the performance, but the timing and back fire make me wonder if the timing chain is any good on it.

i didnt replace the timing chain, i was kinda leaning that way but needed someone elses opinion lol, is this why the marks aint dead on??? also i havent done plug chops yet but do plan on it, i just could tel that it was way under powered even in midrange, ive drove another warrior with same set up, im gonna up the main jet like 4 sizes tomo to see if it gets any better, but the plug looks dark, idk if that could just be from idle time??? also it has dg full ex and has stock carb for now

yep needs a timing chain! that thing aint even gonna run decent with the stock carb.. needs bigger!! a 39mm fcr would be perfect!!

hey guys i got the timing chain replaced and now the marks are dead on, i checked my compression and it was 175, im now runnin a z400 carb with no airbox with filter mounted direct to carb, my current jeting is 25 pilot, 150 main, and air jet 60, im at around 400 elevation, it runs better now but still seems flat on power? like it wont wheelie in 1rst and 2nd unless u pull up hard!!! it just seems like not up to par, like i said i drove one with the same sett up before and it would smoke this one, and the one i drove had stock carb:loco: anyone got some advice?

yes i believe so, i built this warrior for a friend of mine and i just want him to be happy with it bc the money hes put in it, whats with the park brake??

this seems to have great torque but after like 2500rpm the power is just flat, it just seems like a warrior with a pipe

14 on front with stock rear sprocket, hey bones how does yours run? ic u got the 4mill crank and hot cam, how is yours compared to stock??? also the plug is alil rich, like a dark gray

i find it runs great compared to stock ... i haven't found 400ex that will beat it yet (havnt race any 440ex's yet tho) its bin gps'ed (not the best way i know) at 73mph with 15/38 gearing so i think its does pretty damn good for 87 warrior

can you garb a pic of your plug ?

so i figured out the problem!!! it had a dana tech cdi ignition or wtvr thr called on it, that was installed by the owner, it originally had a big gun cdi on it, the new cdi was causing it to run flat on top end, its the non adjustable danatech, so id think the cdi was defective, but after installing the big gun cdi it went from slower then stock to beating my z400!!!
