so i decdied to change my oil today and when i went to take the drain plug off it stripped....great.....messed around with it for a while, tried to file down the sides so i could get a nice flat surface to fit the 6 point socket on and that didnt work, tried to drill a little hole in it so i can put a punch on it and try to hammer it off and that didnt work, got a dremel and cut a slice in it so i could use a screwdriver to unscrew it and that didnt work. i also tried to put a little bit of heat to it and it still wouldnt budge, i dont remember tightening it that much last time i did the oil change and im running out of ideas, heres a pic of the busted nut as it sits now, please any info will help i was supposed to go ride this weekend :(

Damn man this sucks. At one time my plug was so tight it rounded off when i tried to take it off. The hex part was rounded off and i thought i was screwed. Heres what i did, Find the next size down socket and hammer it on so its jammed on there. Then, carefully, heat the cases up, not to hot but get it decently warm. Try that, i did it that way and it came right off. You might also be able to get a pair off vise grips on the outer ring of it and loosen it that way.

you can also try a large visegrips or have a nut wielded on to get it off. but no matter what you might as well find the cheapest one on ebay or call you local dealer and have them order it

also maybe cut a little slice on the side of the bolt and take a chizzle and a hammer to break it loose

Only bad thing about these plugs is that they are aluminum, so you would have to have a welding shop do it, unless you've worked a tig welder before

I'd recommend trying your heart out with a pair of vice grips like most other people suggested. Thats how my uncle got one loose one time when one got stripped on a car I think it was

K I will try vice grips again. I have a parts Wheeler I can take the plug off of
