High idle then normal

I'm working on my buddies warrior and it idles fine but when you rev it up the idle stays high for about 5 seconds or so then drops down. How can I fix that?

on the left side of the carb is a black cover with six screws, remove that cover and check that the arms inside are coming back down all the way. if it is hanging up, spray carb cleaner first to get any dirt out of there. then spray it with pb blaster and work the throttle.if thats the problem it will free it up. my wifes bear tracker did the same thing.

if that's not it, check for air leaks around the carb/intake

clan the carb. Sounds to me like the slide is sticking.
