I do the spray bedliner on my skid plates, nerfs, and did the axle carrier. It actually holds up pretty decent and it easy to touch up if it gets a scratch. I opted for powder coat on my wheels. Got a great deal on having it done on two sets of wheels.

Mine has a few marks in the rolled bead area from rocks and such. Other than that it has held up pretty well. I just get out the rattle can and touch up the nicks and keep at it. Other than the wrinkle finish of the bed liner spray, I think it would look good on wheels and like I said, easy to touch up when needed.
