I love the hiper wheels and how they look on those, but of course I can't afford them. Is there some kind of poor mans version that makes them look similar or close to? Maybe something that goes on the stock wheels?

Thanks

Save up the money, they are worth it.

No one else makes carbon fiber, or removable beadlock rings. Only way to get the look of a hiper, is to have hipers.

There are a set of rear NIB 8x8 hipers with brand new holeshot tires for 350 on ebay right now.

For a trail rider..... they are deffintly not worth it. I have been riding for 7 years and have never popped a bead. I have run my tires flat and still never came close to popping one off.

I agree with that, i have only lost one bead but my tire was flat before it happened....

Yeah, i'm with that too. Sure, they may be tough, but I don't see how it's worth it. There are plenty of other beadlock wheels out there that weigh the same and cost about half that. Everybody goes nutz about how cool they look and how light they are. They're no lighter than a .190 aluminum wheel, and to me they don't look all that crazy, they just look like a pain in the ass to clean.

Ha ha i was thinkin the same thing, my buddy has a set on his raptor 700, he had a set of douglas .190 performance beadlocks on it before and he loved them, he said there is not much of a difference, the only one i can see it that they wont bend but if you bend the .190 perf beads, you have more to worry about then a bent wheel, lol but to each his own

I agree and disagree with this. There not worth it if you are just and easy trail rider and just do mudding and just trails. But if your into hillclimbs and your running on low pressure and have tight cornering and stuff like that i would say the backs are worth it. i have poped both of my backs off the bead before i got my lockers. The fronts ive never poped off except yesterday when i ran into a tree with my front left and it just blew it off the rim. Acualy i change that i say the fronts are important to if your into fast trails or xc racing and stuff like that. you can easily run into a tree like i did at high speeds and be tireless on the trail if you dont have front locker either.

Idk i like just having the rears bead locks.

I would say hypers are not worth it becasue the cost and there not that great compaired to every other lockers. Just get a cheap set of lockers...they look just as cool.

Hipers no good for trails? Maybe if you're a second gear rider. Xc bangs your tires harder then any other style. Hipers wont bend, some crack, but they have life time warranty.

I've never warrented the need for any bead locking type rim and I do run some fast trails and some of em have lots of tree roots exposed. Anytime a tire went was because of a hole in em. There for racing not the weekend warrior. Hence $1000 for rims and tires.

The Hiper wheels are fantastic if you are racing. I do not have them yet but will soon. I have pulled the bead several times with non bead locks. Unless you are racing or just want to spend the money I would have to agree they are not worth it. On the other side it sucks when you are running in front of the pack and blow a tire.
