So I am thinking about getting this HMF exhaust slip-on soon. The only thing is, would i have to rejet the carb? And if so....

1. Do you have to take off the carb to jet it?

2. What jets do I use for a 01 Warrior with a K and N air filter and an HMF slip on?

1. You don't have to but it makes it a whole hell of a lot easier.

2. Depends on your air setup (open box or closed) and elevation. Every quad is different. Id say if you leaving you pilot the same, go two jets up and see from there.

yup its closed airbox with a k and n filter. right now its stock jets and runs fine but i dunno about when i get the new slip on.

There are 2 jets right? the main and pilot. when i buy a jet kit do i change em both or mess with the a/f mix screw?

if your running an air lid try a 148 if no lid try a 150 also its easier to at least unbolt the carb

if your going hmf id also recommend a look at the competition pipe

Don't buy a jet kit, Buy one up on the pilot and a few up on the main. Save yourself some money. I'd say go one up on main and pilot and see how it runs then.

im kinda on a budget (250 bucks) what do you guys think?

I was thinking the HMF for a good perfermance exhaust and only 219 bucks. Do you think i would notice a difference in power? or should just save my money

I may be a newb to this jetting thing as I have never done it before....but I have messed around quite a bit with many different carbs.

When I jet my carb I'll be taking it off and cleaning it, and I recommend you do the same because thoroughly cleaning the carb will help ensure you get the jetting correct. Most people go up to a 150 main jet when they mod their Warrior, but I think you should just go one size up as you are running the stock airbox setup. The stock main jet is a 145 for Warriors, and I think the next up is a 147.5, but it could be 148.

I'm not sure if you have to replace the pilot jet or not, nobody's ever told me they did. I think the pilot jet is adjustable, so I would try not replacing it.

HMF all the way.

Stock pilot is not adjustable, its replaceable. Many long time warrior carb people will agree that the stock jetteing is off from the factory and the stock Pilot is a little on the weak side, up it by one and make up for that. You'll use slightly more fuel but the bike will run better. They go up in 2.5 increments, both main and pilot.

the main jet is the one on the bottom of the carb correct?

cool that seems like the easy one to change. now where is this pilot jet at? also i noticed you have a yz250 shifter. does it help a lot? and also what year shifter should i get on ebay?

Pilot is right in the middle in the tube. It in there and soft brass, don't strip it off. Any year, and its the best cheap upgrade for these quads.
