How much oil?

I know this is a noob question but I looked in the manual and it said 3 quarts and that seems kinda high. I just got my top end back together and I was filling it with oil to start it and I put in 2.5 qts. I only started it and had it running for about 15 seconds then I noticed my clutch cover gasket spewing oil!!. But Just so I know how much does a standard motor take???

till the dipstick says full LOL I would start with the 2.5 quarts. I think mine was full at 2.75 but can't remember

Haha i knew somebody would say that. But yea thats what I figured 2.5 or so. I couldn't remember, its been a long time since I rode it / changed the oil and filter.

If I remember right it's 2.4 without filter change and 2.6 with.

Nope,one liter is equal to 1000 cubic centimeters in volume. :tup:

You are right.....kinda,our quarts up here are 1 136.52 cubic centimeter :iagree:
