hey guys im gonna fix my 3 rd gear (doesnt work).
Tonight i pulled the motor etc.
How exactly do i split the case?
maybe you guys know a tut or a video or something.
I just dont wanna take everything apart unless i have to.

A walk through could be nice, but i know you guys dont get paid do run this awesome forum so i kinda wouldnt expect such.

Just hopeing to get info from those who have do it before. Thanks

eh light taps on the few places where there is extra aluminium that you are supposed to tap on and it comes apart fairly easily.... if it takes more that light tapping you missed a bolt... its best to lay one 1/2 as close to flat as you can and then tap the other 1/2 off, up... that way all your gears stay where they belong....

ok heres where im at:
pulled the motor
took off the topend
took off stator cover thing
and all the bolts around the middle of the case.
and it doesnt even budge when i tap on it and try to pry it apart,
does the flywheel need to come out? it looks like there are bolts under there.,,,
cuz i cant get that thing off....
help!!!!

i didnt say pry... thats a good way to break the case... you gotta get that flywheel off i believe... cant tell for sure without looking at it... not so much for the possible bolts behind it but for the fact that its not going to fit thru the case! ( a 5inch or so flywheel is not going to fit thru a 2 inch hole?!?)
